Privacy Policy
The Daily Token is made by Whale Development Studios ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website, https://thedailytoken.net, and The Daily Token Uploader, the tool we use to publish our own videos to YouTube. Questions: contact@whaledevstudios.com.
This website
We don't run analytics, ads or tracking on this site, and we don't set cookies. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and keep it secure. See Netlify's privacy policy.
- Videos. Our episodes are YouTube videos. A player on this site doesn't load anything from YouTube until you press play. Then it loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and from that point YouTube and Google handle your data under the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
- Email. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete them on request.
- RSS. Feed readers fetch our feed like any web page. We don't learn who subscribes.
The Daily Token Uploader (YouTube API Services)
The Daily Token Uploader is an internal tool. It uses YouTube API Services to publish our own episodes to our own YouTube channel, and only our channel's owner signs in to it.
- What it accesses. With the owner's permission, it uploads our videos, sets their titles, descriptions, thumbnails and publish times, and reads our channel's name to confirm it's the right channel. It does not access other people's accounts, and it does not read or collect data about our viewers.
- What it stores. The sign-in token Google issues is stored only on our production computer, in a file only that computer's user can read. It is never shared, sold or sent anywhere except to Google to make these requests.
- Revoking access. The channel owner can revoke the tool's access at any time from the Google security settings page.
By watching our videos you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
The Daily Token is a general-audience news show. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you and to have it corrected or deleted. The only personal data we could hold is an email you sent us. Write to contact@whaledevstudios.com.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
